slow loading of websites (IE 5.5)

Hi,
One of our machines having IE 5.5 loads webpages with many graphics very slowly.
What we observed was at 32 bits/pixel this happens, once we change to 16 bits/pixel in color settings IE goes faster.
also graphics are loaded slowly, text seems to be appearing in normal speed.

We have ATI rage 3d pro card no other display problems.
We need to have 32 bits/pixel for this system as the user requires that pixel range.
Tried reinstalling display driver, didnt work any better.
also tried reinstalling IE 5.5 no luck.

Any ideas

It may be that the card simply is not fast enough to render 32Bpp images well. IE is hard on video adapters. Is replacing it with something more current an option?

Thanx for replay,
But no other application faces this problem of rendering, Even Netscape is able to display faster the same websites.
