    Graphics Conversion (2000)

I recently downloaded a .tif photo I purchased to use for the cover of an upcoming CD; & couldn't open it Publisher 2000, so I loaded that particular converter (.tif) from the Publisher CD. I still couldn't open the file. I then opened it in Jasc Paint Shop Pro 7 (without a hitch) & saved a copy as a .jpg. Publisher wouldn't open the .jpg file either. Is anyone aware of any .tif characteristics that would prevent that file type from opening in certain apps, or that would foil a conversion to another file type? Shouldn't Publisher be able to at least open the .jpg? Thanks.

How are you trying to open it? If you insert a picture object and then browse to the tif in the Insert Picture dialog, you should see the graphic image. Click on it then click Insert. Works fine. However, I have Pub 2002. So, maybe it's a version issue.

    Kevin,

That's what I do, but a preview is not available. When I attempt to insert, the message reads that Publisher may not recognize the format, or that the applicable converter may not be loaded. I loaded both the .tif & .jpg converters from the CD; & it still won't open. The studio where I purchased the photo told me that it was saved in Photoshop as a .tif with a MAC Byte order. They said to try saving a copy as a .tif in Paint Shop Pro, which would bring up a dialog box giving me the option to utilize a PC Byte order. Thanks.
