    graphic borders on labels (word 2000)

    Attempting to make nametags using page of labels and ultimately mailmerge names. Want to put a small border around each nametag (label).Most o f graphic procedures for inserting into word seem to to be available.

    Cell borders may be your best bet. See attached sample using Avery 5095 template.

    Hi Sam:
    Are you trying to put a graphic border around the nametag (like a bunch of flowers, etc.)?
    1. If so, create a document with a graphic & format it have a wrapping style of square. You may decide to have several small pictures that go around the edges of the label. You'll need to experiment to get the right size & layout.
    2. Then select all the small graphic images & choose Draw/Group from the Drawing toolbar.
    3. Save the document & make note of it's complete path.
    4. When you do a mailmerge & come to the step where you insert MergeFields into a label, do this first:
    Press F9 to insert field braces & type inside the braces so it looks like this:

    { INCLUDEPICTURE "C:FolderSubfolderfilename" }

    Note the use of double backslashes in the path name. Of course, your drive letter may be different.
    5. Insert the rest of the mergefields into your document & do a mailmerge.

    Hope I've understood what you want.
