Delimited Text Transfer (97)

Hi there, can anybody tell me how to use a TransferText Delim, without getting quotation marks around all my text fields??
i.e. my text comes out "AIRPORT","GLASGOW","-",.....etc. instead of AIRPORT,GLASGOW,-

    Thanks.

You can use a saved export specification. You'll have to start a manual export for this (one time only).
    1.
Select the table or query in the database window.

Select File/Export...

Select "Text files (...)" as output type and enter a file name.

Click Export.

Enter the settings you like in the Export Wizard. In particular, set the Text delimiter to {none} in the second step.

In the last step, don't click Finish yet, but click Advanced... instead.

You'll see an overview of your settings. Click Save As... and give your export specification a name.

Click OK until you are back in the Wizard. You can Finish or Cancel now.
Now, you can use the saved export specification in DoCmd.TransferText. The second argument is SpecificationName:

DoCmd.TransferText acExportDelim, "Export Spec", "tblData", "C:TextFilesData.txt"

    Regards,
    Hans

Have you created an import specification ?
Do a manual import of the text file which should start the Import Text Wizard - under the Advanced option there is a setting for the Text Qualifier, which I think defaults to "
Use the Save As to create your import spec, then use that in the TransferText macro
