    On update event (97)

I created a form to search a table. By entering a name or ID number, the form opens another form with the requested information. For some reason though, the name field sometimes has an extra space which requres the user to hit backspace and then enter the name. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to prevent it. Thanks.

Can you narrow down the specifics? Does it happen when the user tabs into the name field, or only if the user selects it with the mouse? Do you have any code which sets the default value? There are alot of possibilities. Something must be going on, because it is not usual.

I figured it out...The event procedure opened another form and then cleared the field. In doing so, I had an extra space, so when I went back to the field, it was putting the space before whatever I typed. Thanks for the inspiration.
