Spool 32 error on boot up

My brother is receiving the following error message when he first switches his computer on:

    ----

He remembers a similar error message before - eventually his system locked up completely and he was forced to reinstall Windows from scratch.

Can anyone shed some light on what the error message means and what can be done about it.

    Thanks,

    Chris

Re: Spool 32 error on boot up

Well, I can see from it that it's a memory error with the printer. A page fault is a memory error, and the Spool32 service handles printing in Windows.

I'd try removing the printer and re-installing, and making sure that you have the latest drivers. Any specifics available on what kind of printer this is, and possibly the current driver's version?
