    Print Startup Programs List?

Is there a way to print out the list of programs that appear in the startup window of Win98SE System Configuration Utility? Copy and paste does not work. The only way I can find to do it thus far is to print-screen to Word and then print the whole screen out. Since I have so many programs listed, that takes up three screens (with overlap). I am looking for a way to print the list of programs out directly. IDEALLY, I would like to be able to alphabetize the list as well. Is that possible? Also, how can I get rid of duplicate entries (other than LoadPowerProfile, which is supposed to apperar twice)? Any help is appreciated. Robert

    Re: Print Startup Programs List?

Perhaps I can partially help. Run the Microsoft System Information app. For me, it's Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information. From there, click on the plus sign next to Software Environment in the left-hand pane. There should be a Startup Programs entry. Click on that, and as far as I can tell, you have your Startup list. You can't sort it, though.

    Edited to divulge more information

Once you have Startup Programs selected, click Edit > Select All (or press Ctrl+A) copy, and paste it into - my preference - Excel. You can sort any way you'd like, or at least Ascending/Descdending

    Hi,

I have read your response and I believe it may be the solution to my problem. Following the installation of some new programs I get annoying messages during the start-up cycle (ie Yahoo meesenger pops up all the time, and other applications). Is the software environment/startup poragrams the area to eliminate the annoying startup routine.

    Hi Claude,

Go to Start/Run and type msconfig.exe and it will allow you to make changes concerning which programs load automatically at startup. Also, you might check and see if there are any shortcuts in the /Windows/Start Menu/Programs/StartUp folder.

    Hi Robert

Startup List lists all programs set to run at startup in Note Pad. Makes it very easy to edit and/or print.
You can find it at spywareinfo.com, scroll down to Startup Program Management and click on the link to download.
