    Password protect and network (2000/2002)

If I assign a password to protect my file (on the network) can more than on person open it in read/write access?

If you Write protect your file, only one person can make changes / write to the file at a time when accessing the file via a network. Thus if you open and are working on a file and then I try to open the file (on the same network) I would receive a message that the file is locked for editing by you and that I would only be able to open a read/only version of the file.

I tested this out on our network as well and verified that it works as indicated. Are you getting differen't results?
    Regards,
