    Routing Mail (2000 SR-1)

I have a couple of email accounts that all get downloaded when I click on Send/Receive; however, all the mail ends up in my one Inbox folder. I would like to route email from one of my accounts to a separate folder. I can find all kinds of ways to route the mail based on sender, etc., but nowhere can I find where it will route based on the account.

rules wizard should handle it - if there isn't an option for by account, use header contains and use your email address or other unique information from the header.

Well, that's just the problem Mary. There is no 'account' selection in the rules wizard, and if I used my email address, then every incoming message would be routed to that folder. I only want messages from that one account routed to a particular folder.

    thanks anyway,

does the second account have a unique string in the header - like it's email address? use the 'header contains' rule and that string.

Unfortunately, all I can find in the header is From, To, Cc, Subject and Date -- all of which change from message to message, so I guess I'm out of luck. Thanks anyway.

Cheer up, for I do not believe that all is lost. I just looked at my Rules Wizard options, and I have the option "when received through the specified account" (see attached) that should handle your needs. I'm using the SP-2 version, but I would expect this to be available in your non-SP version.

    Thanks David,

It works just fine. I just wasn't burrowing down far enough in the Rules wizard dialog boxes.
