    Hi
Yup, that's the score. Or so it seems. I don't know if this will help, but I'm gonna tell you a little story.
Recently my Primary HD went kerlunk. I took the opportunity to get a new one and reinstall XPP and my software base. No JVM supplied, and the MS site won't let you have it either.
I then went to Sun Systems Download Site and got their version.
Further down the line I was installing Britannica 2002, when it installed, without my intervention or choice, an MS version of JVM, because it 'couldn't find one pre-loaded'.
WJVIEW (from the Run command line) had not worked with the Sun version, but after the Britannica install it did. Trouble is, it gave me an old version number.
This morning my AutoWindows Update kicked in (as it does) and installed a couple of upgrades I'd missed earlier, one of which plugged a hole in the JVM. Now here's the bottom line : WJVIEW now says I have the (latest) MS JVM 5.00.3805.
    Would anyone care to comment?

    Hi MerC

Its funny you should say that because whilst I was awaiting a reply I installed Limewire P2P and it did exactly the same thing and now I'm fixed but there must be untold hoardes out there that do not know this, So come on Microsoft get this sorted.
Thanks for your reply. talk about plug and pray!!!
