    Edit/Replace in Links (2000 SR-1)

    All;
    Is there a way to edit the text in links globally? I have copied several worksheets with links in that workbook to another Excel workbook. Those worksheets have links to Excel and Word documents. I can Edit/Links and change the source file, but it then changes the source for the links I have to Word documents too. That I don't want changed, just the links to Excel workbooks.

    Thx in advacne

    Hi T-Man,
    You could use Edit/Replace to change the old references to the new ones.

    If you click on a linked cell in the target worksheet (with the source workbook closed), you'll see that it has a formula containing the full path, workbook and sheet name of the source workbook enclosed in single quotes, followed by the cell reference. Since you only want to change the links to Excel workbooks and not to other files, you just need to make sure that you include the name and extension of the source workbooks in the old & new strings. You'll need to do this on each worksheet in your target workbook.
