New IE Window goes Back one step in History - Why? (IE6)

Just curious - when I have IE open and press Ctrl-N for a new window, IE opens up the page PREVIOUS to the one I was then looking at. Is there some logic to this I'm just not aware of?

That is not the usual and customary behavior. Does this happen on all web sites? Have you repaired IE recently? (Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs).

Ironically, it DIDN'T happen for the first time that I've noticed when I opened a new window to reply to your post!

It was happening before and after I re-registered some DLL's for opening links into a different window; no I haven't repaired recently, but will see what that does. Thanks.
