    Softward for tracing IP?

Is there any software that will trace an IP area? I use telnet to find the IP number of a website or email when required, but often the trace "times out". Is there a site or any software that actually tells the site area, meaning if I have the IP number of an email for example, is there any way to locate where it originated without using trace route?

Zone Alarm PRO does all that automatically. It does cost US$50.00 but that includes all the other great firewall goodies.

See if anything at All-nettools helps.

Or, you can try the <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> NS-Batch. I also own Neo Trace Pro, but the possible "downside" to that is that they were recently bought by McAfee, so there will be folks who shudder right away. If you want to go look, you can find some words about NeoWorx Products here.

Another one: Karen Kenworthy's Power Tools Newsletter, besides having a lot of great other software tools, has WhoIs:

Try - Sam Spade v1.14, I'm using it under Win2K & WinXP with no problems.

Excellent web sites for me to read and get a clearer understanding of what I am trying to work out. I downloaded NeoTrace and will give it a try. I agree totally about Web Ferret too, have been using it for ages and find it great. Thank you kindly for responding.

Andrew this is a cool site, everything on one web page that I have been doing in dos and telnet without it timing out! I am deeply into "simple" coz I'm pretty basic at this level. Appreciate the tip greatly.
