Documents shared between PC and Mac

We have Office 2000 Professional and Premium and we have a report created in Word 2000 and saved it as an RTF document (for many various compatibility reasons).

We then email the document to various people.

There are one or two people who are using Apple Macs who cannot open the RTF documents.

Is there a program that those who use Apple Macs can use to open the RTF document or is there another format which can used for them to read the document.

(My knowledge of Apple Macs is very limited unfortunately)
Thanks in advance.

I too am not so Mac savvy, but have you tried converting the doc to PDF? You'd have to have Adobe writer or distiller on your pc.

The mac users can download Acrobat Reader from http://www.adobe.com for free and SHOULD be able to read the docs you send them. (I say 'should' because I looked at adobe.com and pdfzone.com and found nothing on the contrary... but that doesn't mean it definitely will work )

Hope that helps...
have fun

The following utility is available and might help.

Free PDF

Have not used it so cannot be sure.

Okay, thanks. I'll check if they can read PDF documents.

Does any know of any other document formats that work?

Thanks for the suggestion of the shareware/freeware program, but I think I shall give option that a pass.

What version of Word are you using on the Mac?

MS has on sharing documents with Word 2001 and earlier. If they are using Word 98, check out these free downloads. There's a "97-2000" converter as well as a football pool template for PowerPoint. Maybe life is better on the Mac.
