    Date format in columns (OL2002)

After upgrading from Office 2000 to Office XP I discovered that all views that include a date column has a changed format of date - it now shows all dates in the US standard (day MM-dd-yyyy hh:mm AM/PM) - rather inconvenient as my usual setting is UK. I was pretty convinced that the setting used for defining the format of these columns was taken from the Control Panel (Regional settings), but this setting is OK (UK). I tried changing this setting to something different and then changing back, but it didn't seem to have any effect, whatsoever.

    Ideas, anyone?

    Best regards, Jaspar

Right click on the date column header and choose format columns. set the format from there.

Re: Date format in columns (OL2002)

    Hi MJ

Thanx for the suggestion, but if I try this I only get to choose diiferent variations of the US format (with or without the day, with or without time and so on). I actually tried to remove the column altogether and then reinsert it, but it did not have any effect. I thought there might be one setting that defined the date format for columns in all folders, and I thought that the Control Panels regional settings was the place to go, but as it didn't seem to have any influence, I decided to check in this great forum.

    Any more ideas?

    Well, no - it's a UK version.

    (I'm on W2K, but...)
From Control panel > Regional Options >
You will have set up your General locale - but do you also have a tab marked "Input Locales"?
I have a recollection that despite your General setting, you can have multiple and switchable locales. It may be worth checking you do not have both US and UK settings in there.

Something else to check - Click Start, click Run, type
    msinfo32.exe
in the Open box, and then click OK.
    What Locale does it report?
