    Formatting with Nz Function

Hi all - I am using Access2000. I have created a field that must check for null value (it being used in a formula later). I am using the Nz(exp,0) function. My problem is that I want to format the field as currency. When I choose the properties for that field and the format drop down, I get no choices - is there a better way to do this? Thanks - Gail

    Re: Formatting with Nz Function

Strange as this may sound, just add zero to your function:

    :nz(exp,0)+0

and you will be able to format as currency. For some reason it is product of the nz function is being read as text. Involving it in an arithmatic operation shows Access that it's a number. Go figure.

The other option is to wrap the Nz() function in a CCur() function, which will convert the Nz string to a number in currency format.
