Outlook Alert Sound (Windows 2000 SP1)

When a new e-mail comes in I get a 2 tone sound. Can I change it and how?

I don't believe you easily can, as you tick a check box to turn it on or off. Perhaps the VBA experts have a way of accessing a change.

Can it be a registry setting?

Yes, the default is controlled by the registry. Here is a link to the article. By the looks of it you can add a path to your preferred sound file.

Since you managed to post the same information I was just about to, I think that I could at least provide a nice usable sound file that I think is a definate imprivement over Microsoft's dull and boring bing-bong.
