If you want to include a signature, etc., you're going to have to stop using SendObject and write code to automate the use of Outlook. SendObject gives you basic email functionality, but no frills. As far as renaming the attachment. If you only want to rename what gets attached and not the file itself, then your best option is to copy the file to a new name and use the new file as the attachment.

I am not sure what happens with outlook, but with Eudora, the normal signature is included if I use true as the last value in the sendobject line, and is not included if I use false.

I am puzzled about the attachment bit.
As far as I know, the attachment can only be a database object. So if you send them a report, the report is generated at the time as say an rtf. so it didn't exist as a file before this moment. Is that what you are doing, or can use it to attach any file you like?

Charlotte was suggesting that you rename the file before attaching it. This option is only available if the file already exists.
SendObject creates a file from a database object , then attaches it. I don't think you have the opportunity to intervene between those two steps and rename it.
You are sending a query, so you could temporarily rename the query using DAO, then rename back at the end.
