    My Documents

I thought this one would've been covered before but there's nothing coming up in the Search tool.

On my Start button, I have (starting at the bottom) these options: Shut Down, Run, Help, Find, Settings, Programs, {DIVIDER LINE}, Control Panel, My Documents, and New Office Document.

I don't remember how I got that cascading Control Panel there but I like it - and I want the My Documents folder to do the same. Does anyone know how to make that My Documents folder open to a cascading menu (like the Programs item does)?

    Thanks
    - Ricky

    Re: My Documents

    Not for my Win98 Box...

I can get the following to make cascading menus:

    Printers
    Control Panel
    Scheduled Tasks

But these do NOT make cascading menus:

    My Documents
    My Computer
    InBox
    Desktop
    Administrative Tools
    Fonts

In fact, My Documents doesn't even pretend to do this -- there is no carrot!

    Re: My Documents

It looks like there is a tweak to make a cascading "My Documents" in Win2K, but no one I can find YET says it works in Win9x:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVe rsionExplorerAdvanced]
    "CascadeMyDocuments"="Yes"

I also notice that all of the objects that allow cascading are present in the "My Computer" folder. Is there a relation???

I reg a report of one guy claiming he did this -- but he gave no specifics as to how. I did find a program that will clearly do this:

    Cascader

    Re: My Documents

WyllyWylly - Thanks for your response, but even after following the instructions to the letter, this trick would not work on the My Documents folder. Do you think it has something to do with the presence of the existing My Documents folder being there?

Hey - I hope you're right, I'm going after the cascader now and I'll let you know how it turned out. Thanks

    Re: My Documents

You can do that on the Taskbar, but not from the Start menu...
