Excel has a function to do what you want. It's called MOD, takes 2 arguments and returns what is the remainder of the first divided by the second, So that

    =MOD(7+1,10) = 8

    =MOD(99+2,10) = 1

    =MOD(122,10) = 2, etc,

Alternatively you could use the RIGHT function - providing the right most number of characters from within a cell
    If A1 = 123
=RIGHT(A1) by default would provide just the right most character => 3
=RIGHT(A1,2) the two right most characters => 23
