    Updates Won't Install! (Excel (10.2614.3501) SP-1)

For example with Excel, I've downloaded recent patches and updates from Microsoft, but when I attempt to install I receive a message that tells me that I do not have the correct version of Excel installed in order to implement the patch. This behavior also occurs with the other Office Suite products.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    Robert

Do you have and earlier version installed as well, possibly installed *after* OXP?

    Charlotte,

No. In fact, once I noticed the problem with my system I took it down (repartition and format, etc) and completely rebuilt it from scratch; totally clean install. All legal software as well and I believe at current rev levels.

    Thanks for the thought.

Then are you sure it's referring to the version of Office and not the version of the Windows installer?

How would I know which it is referring to? The version of WIndows installer is dated August 2001 and had to be installed with XP at rebuild time.
