View Word doc. on 1 page? (XP)

    Hi,

When viewing my document, it spans 2 pages on the screen.
I am NOT in Print Preview mode.

How can I change it back to 1 page?

    Thanks very much.

Print Layout view can also show multiple pages. Did you already try changing the zoom factor?

    1) Click the View menu
    2) Click Zoom
    3) Choose the factor you want

Yes - the Zoom didn't work.
Is there a Word XP Setting which determines how many pages you can see?

I might me misunderstanding what you describe as "spans 2 pages on the screen". Are you seeing 2 full pages next to each other or parts of 2 pages. How is it arranged?

The only control I know of that shows 2 full pages is the Zoom control. To see two partial pages would be Split.

Can you attach a screen capture? (must be less than 100kb)

If you don't want to see your text separated into pages while you edit, choose View|Normal rather than View|Print Layout. However, this will have no effect on the "real" print layout of the document.

Have you checked to make sure that there is not an extra return causing it to span 2 pages?

"spans 2 pages on the screen" can be many things. I don't think we are catching what you mean. Can you be more specific or attach a screen shot? It might be you're seeing physical page breaks and need to switch to Normal view. I could be your page is spilling over to two pages and need to delete blank lines. Or it could be you have the view (zoom) set to multiple page two pages and need to choose Page Width.

    What view are you in?
    What is your zoom setting?
How many total pages do you have?
