    Gridlines

    Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get rid of gridlines permanantly (default them) I hate them.....

    Firstly you need to craete the default Workbook you like. The best way is start with 1 Worksheet and set whatever formats and other options you want - in your case Tools, Options, Gridlines unchecked. When you have the sheet the way you want it copy it as many times as you want the default No of sheets to be in your new Workbooks. Ensure the sheets are numbered correctly.

    Save As type Template (*.xlt)as Book.xlt in your XLStart directory.

    Next remove all sheets except one. Once again Save As type template (*.xlt) this time naming it as Sheet.xlt in the XLStart directory. This becomes the default for any new sheets you insert in a workbook.

    To revert back to the Excel default just delete those 2 files.

    Hope this works - just make sure you get the correct path to your XLStart Directory.
