Is there a way to use the Outlook contacts/address book as a data base to run address lables for Christmas cards, etc.? Thanx, Russ

Once you have the categories made as Mary suggests, you select the contacts in that category and can launch the mail merge from Outlook via Tools Menu | Mail Merge. I believe this is the preferred approach.

Depending on the options you installed with Outlook, you can start from Word and point to Outlook as the data source of a merge, but the filtering is problematic.
