    Outlook Express 6 (6)

Hi, can anyone help with this problem? The network at my work runs on NT4 (SP6). When I reply to a post in Outlook Express I get an error message, and the message goes into my outbox. However, it does send, and continues to send, with recipients often getting 12+ copies of the message. The network administrator has tried resetting my configuration and reininstalling Outlook Express. I know absolutely nothing about Outlook, so in layman's terms - can anyone suggest what the problem is and how it might be fixed?? Many thanks.

Is this a mail message or a newsgroup post you're replying to?

What is the error message you get?

Is your SMTP server an internal SMTP server (on that NT4 server) or external SMTP server? (This might not be obvious to you, but if you look at your account settings, you imght be able to guess based on the server name.)

Hi, thanks for replying. Its reply to a mailmessage, not newsgroup, and its running across NT4 (Service Pack 6), looks like an internal server. Any ideas?

tabbed box appears with message "Some errors occurred whilst processing your request - please review the box below for more details." Within the errors box there is nothing, and in the task box there is a "!Send 1 message using....". Thanks.

Blank error is not helpful... Could it be a timeout? Try increasing your timeout (Tools, Accounts, Properties, Advanced). I haven't searched up at Microsoft.com; perhaps this is a known bug. Does everyone else on the network use Outlook Express with no problems?

Not likely to be timeout as error appears immediately upon "send"(?), but will increase to see. Nobody else appears to have the same problem. My account has been reset, and outlook exp reinstalled, but the same problem occurs. Our network manager is scratching his head.....!
