    Comments (Word 2002 SP-1)

A Word 2000 doc with comments, when opened in Word 2002, shows no indication of a comment, and when hovered over, no comment is shown. Yet they are seen in the Review pane. Is there a conversion process that must be done or must all comments be reentered?

    Re: Comments (Word 2002 SP-1)

I can't be sure, as I've not used 2002, but does it show up if you view hidden text? Also, this may help. I seem to recall one of Woody's articles (WOW) discussing how to turn off the balloon feature so that it behaved like previous versions. You could check the archives.

    Hope this helps.

    Re: Comments (Word 2002 SP-1)

We have just started using comments in Word 2002. In Print Layout View, the comment markers are all there, but sometimes the comment balloons are missing.

However in Web Layout View all the comment markers and balloons are visible.

What is going wrong in Print Layout view?

    Hi Marie:
Hopefully, someone familiar with 2002 will jump in; I just tried to see if a thead might help the previous question. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Tools, Options, Track Changes, Use Balloons in Print and Web Layout.

    Does this help at all?
