    find & kill macros

Some workbooks have macros in them, and Excel's security settings cause a delay and prompt screen to appear when loading these workbooks. They aren't worth the trouble, so how can I find the macros and delete them? Thanks.

    Re: find & kill macros

Go to the VBE and remove the modules that contain the macros. Open your workbook that contains the unwanted macros and choose Tools >> Macro >> Visual Basic Editor. Go to the Project Explorer (if you cannot find it, go to View >> Project Explorer to make it visible). In the Project Explorer, look up the VBAproject that is linked to your workbook and locate the module that contains the macros. Right click it and remove it. If there is no code in the VBAproject, then the Excel message warning for macros should not appear anymore. Of course, if the code is password protected, you'll need to know this before you can remove the module.

    Hope this helps.
