Upgrade to XP (97 SP 2)

I'm working with Office 97 Professional on a Windows 98 system. I have recently ordered a new computer with Windows XP. I'm thinking now's a good time to upgrade to Office XP. I'm wondering what the sequence would be for installing it on XP. Should I attempt to install the Office XP upgrade version, and would Windows XP then ask to see the original Office 97 installation disk? Or should I first install Office 97, then stick in the upgrade disk?

Install 97 first. Office XP wants to see an installed app before it upgrades.

If following Charlotte's advice, you might want to check out Personality Tranxport Pro from Tranxition to assist in migrating Office settings. (According to <!post=this post from company rep Kelly Reilly,127998>this post from company rep Kelly Reilly<!/post>, they "let end users download the product and use it on their personal machines.") I keep meaning to try it, but haven't yet. Competitor Desktop DNA Professional from Miramar also offers a downloadable evaluation copy, but it doesn't move Office settings.
