Using Open dialog box (Win 98 SE Office 2K)

I'm trying to learn Excel and, supposedly, I should be able to manage workbooks using the Open dialog box. I have been able to select a file/folder and use right-click to copy it. But when I go from the active folder to another to paste what I copied, using right-click again, I can

Have you tried going to the new folder and just entering ctrl-v?

Yes, I tried selecting a file in the active file, right-clicking Copy it, activating the new folder and then doing Ctrl + V. I also tried selecting the file, right-clicking Copy, selecting a folder and then right-clicking it as well as doing Ctrl + V. None of these work.

I've already done Detect and Repair. It could be my Excel 2K didn't install correctly except that everything else I've done in it works.

I doubt the problem is that I'm using Excel 2K with Win 98SE as the operating system. But then, I guess that could be it.
