    Catalog mail merge (2000)

I'm doing a mail merge from Excel as the source. The merge has a skip record if a particular field isn't, say, "CA" (for California). I'd like the resulting document to have the heading "California" at the top of the page. I seem to be able to do this ONLY with a header. Any other text I type in the document finds its way integrated into the catelog. Is this the only way to get the title on the top of the page?

There is a more complicated way, which would require a column in Excel (the datasource) that said "California", based on a method that Cindy Meister demonstrated at http://homepage.swissonline.net/cind...r/MergFram.htm. Using a header is easier, if that's what you want.
