    footnote problems (Word 2000 SR-1)

I'm having problems getting all the footnotes on the same page as the text in Word 2000. Any solutions out there??

Do you mean footnotes split so the beginning is on one page and the end on the next page?

Try formatting the footnote paragraph to "Keep lines together" and if there is more than one paragraph to format all but the last to "Keep with next".

    Hi Kate:
Set the line spacing to exact, rather than single & see if that helps.
    Cheers,

Check three things: 1) Is the Footnote Text style applied to the footnotes. If the footnotes are in something like the Normal style, they can be placed incorrectly. 2) Look at File/Page Setup/Margins and make sure that the amount of space alloted for the header and footer is LESS than the top and bottom margin measurements. If they are the same (or heaven forbid, if the header and footer measurement is larger), footnotes can roll. 3) Go to Tools/Options/Compatibility and make sure that Compatibility is set for Word 2000. If it's a document which was created in an older version of Word and the Compatibility was not updated, the footnotes can be placed incorrectly.
