File won't save properly (Word 2002)

I send a document via e-mail to my home. I work on it at home and e-mail it back to myself at work. When I open it at work Word asks me if I want to update the file on the network. If I say yes it merges the document and it appears with all the changes marked. If I say no, it opens the document as an e-mail. What I want to do is save the document over the top of the current document on the network without having to save it to the hard drive, deleting this, changing that, etc. Thanks for your help.

Re: File won't save properly (Word 2002)

How are you sending the document to your home e-mail account? I assume you're going to File/Send To. What choice do you make at that point? I've found that in Word 2002, "Mail Recipient For Review" is in the same place that "Mail Recipient As Attachment" was in Word 2000, and I've chosen it several times by mistake. "Mail Recipient For Review" should give you the choice you described, but "Mail Recipient As Attachment" shouldn't. At least, that's been my experience with our network.
