    Normal dot (XP 2002)

Quick question, I have a user who wants to use a normal dot from Word 2000 in Word 2002. I didn't think this would be a problem but I wanted to check with the experts on this site. Also - we are having trouble finding where to copy the normal dot to. Thanks for the help.

Shouldn't be a problem. I suspect your user wants the old macros, autotext, toolbars and styles available in Word 2002, yes?

But, if you do encounter some problem, just copy what you want from old to new using the Organizer.

On the user's PC, open the Immediate Window (press Alt-F11 with Word open, then press Ctrl-G).

    Type:

    ?Normaltemplate.fullname

The string returned is the location of the Normal template.
