dsofile.dll

Hi
I am trying to use the dsofile from the microsoft site to write to the properties dialog.
Using a template from the mvp site I am able to read into a table in word but cannot write back. Has anyone been able to write to the properties dialog for multiple files.
I have also tried to compile the VB file which is with the dsofile download but this won't compile with vb5 has anyone managed to compile it. Could you send it?

Thanks Graham

Hi Graham,

Attached is a copy of the DSO file which I downloaded back in Nov. 99. I've used this in Word 97 so hopefully it will compile for you in VB5.

I've used this to read properties but never to write them. Not all the properties are full read/write; somewhere there's a listing of which ones are.

Would you be willing to post a link to the site where you found the template? - maybe there are other folks here who would be interested.

Hi Gary
Thanks for the reply the template is called listprops.dot and is at http://www.mvps.org/word/Downloads/index.html Thanks for the dsofile you sent however it is the same as the one I have. It is the attached VBA demo which is the problem and I am not competant enough to sort it out.

Have you written to the propeties dialog in word or only read.

I have about 300 files which I have automated with a do not use after date taken from the Category and I need to update this every month if we have not had to change the documents.
Any other ideas

Thanks Graham

Hi Graham,

Perhaps you should post your query to one of the MS Word VBA newsgroups since that is where the author of the template, Jonathan West, hangs out.

Here is a list of the MS newsgroups:

Cheers!
