Task Scheduler Error

Hi all,

I have started getting an error from W2K Pro's Task Scheduler. No tasks will run and if I try to open a task to view the settings i get the following pop-up message before the task opens:

General page initialization failed.
The specific error is:
0x8009000f: Object already exists.

The scheduler log shows:

"Symantec NetDetect.job" (NDETECT.EXE) 28/08/2002 17:02:00 ** ERROR **
The attempt to retrieve account information for the specified task failed; therefore, the task did not run. Either an error occurred, or no account information existed for the task.
The specific error is:
0x8009000f: Object already exists.

I have tried creating new tasks where I am sure the user account information is valid, with no change. I have full admin rights.

Any light anyone could shed on this would be appreciated.

Re: Task Scheduler Error

it does seem to be the error I'm getting, but unfortunately the solutions offered haven't worked... Protected storage is already running and the specified reg entry does not exist at all

Hi,
I assume you're running Norton AV? If so, this article may be relevant.
Hope that helps.

Re: Task Scheduler Error

I do run NAV, and I have tried the steps outlined on that page, but unfortunately that hasn't cured it either..

Thanks for your help though..
