    Para formatting (98)

How can I prevent text from wrapping in the window or screen? I know that I could put it into a cell and specify the width in pixels, but I don't wish to use a table. Thanks, Andy.

A couple of things to try:

1] Put in a graphic of fixed width. This could could be just 1 pixel high by however many wide you want it, and the same colour as your background would make it 'invisible'

2] Insert a line of continuous text - i.e. no spaces - and again making it the same colour as your background should render it invisible.

I'm afraid I haven't tried the second idea, but the advantage it may have over a fixed graphic is that the text size, and therefore the 'fixed width' size you are looking for, would change in sympathy with your main text if the browser text size was altered from anything other than medium by the end user/viewer.

I seem to recall that there was an option in HTML somewhere, and I was hoping that FrontPage itself had this option?! Perhaps I'm thinking of non-breaking spaces?

Or maybe using the <pre> tag? See this description.
