    Zipping Attachments (Outlook 2000 SR-1)

When I send an email with a large attachment, I find that Outlook zips the attachment. Is this automatic in Outlook or is there a place where I can selected whether to have Outlook zip the attachment or not? Some of the people I send email to do not have WinZip and they are not able to open the files without me taking the extra time to create a self-extracting file in WinZip first. Most of these attachemnts are just .jpg pictures.

I've never heard of Outlook auto-zipping attachments without the installation of some other program.

However, some web-access email programs do. Perhaps it is the user on the other end whose email program is zipping the files automatically? For instance, if you send an email to someone with AOL, I believe you'll find their attachments auto-zipped with Winzip...

I've also seen the PkWare suite (PkZip) automatically zip attachments if the program options to do so are selected.
