Photos as Wallpaper

It seems that every time I load a new photo from my digital camera it appears in the wallpaper list. I've tried to find where these photos are coming from, but they are not listed in the WINNT folder. How do I turn this feature off, and how can I delete these photos from my Wallpaper list?

Where are you copying these files to, which drive and folder?

Are you running a wallpaper program that changes your wallpaper?

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Re: Photos as Wallpaper

Ok, I just went in and changed the wallpaper to a image file in the My Documents/My Photo folder. Now ALL of the images listed in that folder are listed. And then changed it back to what I was using the Wallpaper folder, and now the listing of the MY photos is still listed. This folder appears to have been added to the list by this action.
Must be in the Registry that saves this information.
Hope this helps, you are NOT alone on this one.

Re: Photos as Wallpaper

As far as I know, all images in the My Pictures root folder are available as wallpaper by default in Windows 2000. The easiest workaround is to create subfolders in My Pictures and use them to store images you don't want available as wallpaper. The disadvantage of this workaround is that the preview viewing functions of My Pictures are not available in subfolders.

Re: Photos as Wallpaper

I've discoverd that BMP and JPEG pics are available in your Wallpaper list, other formats are not. What I've done is store my pics in MS Photodraw format, then convert them if needed. Thanks for your help...

I seem to have ALL of the "the preview viewing functions" in the subfolders. I am running Windows 2000 and the preview is there for MS Word, Photoshop, and Paint Shop Pro.

I'm referring to the image viewer that is in the lower left corner of the window when you have My Pictures open in Windows 2000. (I should have been more specific.) Are you saying that you have this viewer available in subfolders of My Pictures?

You are correct. I do NOT use "Web View" in Windows Explorer, so I never missed this one.
