    Windows XP (Home)

I have Windows ME and will be upgrading to Windows XP.
Does Win XP have a restore button like Win ME?

If you are referring to System Restore, yes - Windows XP not only has it, but I feel that it's more solid than the version in Windows ME. You'll find that some people hate it but it's saved my bacon more than once, and I use it every time I install a driver or application.

Curious...are you restoring or creating a restore point each time you install an app or driver?

Typically just drivers - but if it is an application install that invades the entire PC (such as Office), then I also set one for the app as well.

Although I don't do this consistently, and I should, I also usually create a System State backup before driver installations. All too often System Restore can't fix a bad system level driver installation (cough VIA USB filter cough).

Mark, Have you looked at this MSDN article http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....stemrestore.htm. There is a section on automatically created restore points. You may be doing extra work by manually creating restore points. Could be worth monitoring.
