    Grouped Running Sum (2000)

I'm so frustrated!! OK: I need to sum a value by the Check# entered. I need to display this value on a form along with the data being entered real-time... To place it in the underlying query prevents me from being able to enter records ...

    Amt Check # TotalByCheck#

    1000 ...... 1 ...... 1000
    1500 ...... 2 ...... 1500
    500 ...... 1 ...... 1500
    250 ...... 2 ...... 1750 etc...

Tried the DSum and DLookup functions using the Check Number in the record (of a continuous form) as my criteria... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Why don't you just setup a text box in the form header or footer showing the total by check in this box.
In the AfterUpdate event of the form simply run your DSum there and populate the text box with the Dsum answer.
