Tracking (97)

I have a problem printing documents with tracked changes in Word 97.
I have track changes set:
track changes while editing
highlight changes on screen
highlight changes in printed document

inserted text underlined (set the on screen colour to red)
deleted text strikethrough (set the on screen colour to red)

My problem is when I print the document although the tracked changes appear underlined and with the strikethough lines where they should be, the changes print in grey rather than black.

I can get rid of this if I set the insert text and deleted text to appear on screen in black.
I would really like to be able to keep the changes on screen in red, as it is much easier to read. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

Hi Jen,

To print the tracked changes as black, you can either:
a) go into Tools|Options|Track Changes and change the tracking colours to black; or
go into Tools|Options|Compatibility and check the box against "print colours as black on non-color printers".
Cheers
