    Avery 5160 Labels (Word 97/2000)

I created a very simple mail merge using Avery 5160 Labels. If I have more than 30 names and addresses and uses Word 97, every thing merges just fine. But if I use the same document in Word 2000, it only merges the first 30 names, no second page.

    Help!

Re: Avery 5160 Labels (Word 97/2000)

I just tried it in Word 2k. It's hard to say what's wrong with the main document. Does the main document go for one page or more than one page. Make sure the margins are set up to give enough space at the top & bottom. Avery usually tells you the margin settings for the page. You should have a Section break - Next page at the end of each page. If not, maybe you can attach your main document.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi Phil:

The form is only 1 page, no section breaks (I didn't know I'm suppose to place a section break lol). I'm just wondering why it would work in 97 and not in 2000. Attached is the form. Let me know if you need the data source.

    Thanks for all the help!

I took your main document & attached my own datasource. I had to replace a couple of mergefields, because I use PostalCode instead of zip & Address1 instead of Address. However, after doing this, I merged at least a dozen pages without problems. Maybe there's something wrong with the datasource. I just merged a couple hundred names to a new document in Word 2000 without a problem. I could try it with your datasource & see what happens.

Re: Avery 5160 Labels (Word 97/2000)

    Hi Kitty:
I was able to merge all the address on 2 pages, just by opening the main document & going through the Mail Merge wizard, choosing labels as the type of main document, attaching the datasource you sent me. When you try it, aren't you able to merge all the addresses? I can't seem to find a problem. Maybe you could explain each step you take and exactly what results you're getting with the 2 docs that you've attached. <img src=/S/confused.gif border=0 alt=confused width=15 height=20>

    Hi Phil:

I open the form file and go to straight to merge, since the data file is already attached, I don't go through the wizard. After it merges, it only shows 1 page of labels, 30 labels.

    Hi, Kittynut.

I'm guessing the file was attached before you 'converted' to the new W2K? Have you tried 're-attaching' it via the MailMerge wizard? You MAY have embedded options or filters or whatever that aren't converting very well.

    Phil,

Just an email to say "thank you", as you have been credited by Woody for resolving the sizing of labels issue. As a Brit. I, of course, use A4 paper mainly but I have never been able to get the label content to line up with the labels themselves without some jiggery-pokery, until I unchecked the A4 re-sizing box. It now works a treat after many years of struggling with different label sizes.

    Thank you once again.

    Regards,

    Gil
