Saving multiple attachments (XP)

I've received a set of messages each containing a large number of attachments. I don't need to open them now but must save them to a data folder. I haven't managed to find a way of saving each set of attachments in one operation. Can it be done?

Not that I've ever seen. Save Attachments is only available from the File Menu when a single message is selected. As soon as I select another message, Save Attachments is disabled. There was some discussion about third-party utilities that will save attachments and/or messages, but of course I can't remember now where or when that was.

One suggestion from an earlier thread is here: http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showthread...=&vc=1#Post9835.

What?! In XP they got rid of "Save Attachments"? In Outlook 2000, this pops up a dialog listing all the attachments, and you can specify a folder and save them all in one step.

Save Attachments is still there, even with multiple attachments on one email. But if you're trying to save the attachments on more than one email at a time, then it's disabled:

I may have misunderstood - each set of attachments (one email at a time) - yes, use Save Attachments from the File menu. All the attachments (multiple messages selected) - no, Save Attachments is disabled. Sorry for any confusion I caused.

Might I humbly suggest you make it even easier on yourselves - goto Tools|Customize... , select the Commands tab, select File in the left column, scroll down and drag Save Attachments to your tool bar. Then it's a step quicker to save your attachments on an e-mail all at once

This has been a most interesting tread - I too suffered the same original problem - frequently getting up to 10 or more attachments (documents for review, comment and return) all attached to one e-mail and like the dumb A.. I was, had been saving each attachment one at a time

    Thanks to all contributors
