    Style Backgrounds (Access 2002)

Anyone know of a way to create your own Style background for use on forms? I would like to replace my 'International' style graphic background with a custom look. All I can see are Access' choices such as Blends, International etc. when building a form through the wizard.

    Thanks in advance.

Create the form you want to use as a custom style "template" and apply desired formatting. Open in Design view. Select AutoFormat from Format menu. Click Customize button to open Customize AutoFormat dialog. Select first option, "Create a new AutoFormat based on the Form (YourFormName)." Click OK. Enter New Style Name in box. Click OK. That's it.

To test, create new form using Form Wizard. When you get to the "What style would you like?" dialog box you will see your new style listed along with the built-in ones (see attd illustration, I created new style named "Yellowjacket"). If you use a graphic as background for form it will be saved in the custom style.

If you change mind later, open same form in design view, select AutoFormat, click Customize button, then select 3rd item in Customize AutoFormat dialog, "Delete (name of current form's style)." Note: Be careful not to delete a built-in AutoFormat style because you probably won't be able to get it back w/o reinstalling (or repairing) Access!!

Thanks Mark your directions seem simple. I wish they were as easy to find within the Access Help files.
