    Missing Files

I have recently upgraded from W95 to W98. Whenever I start up W98, I get messages that the files turbovdf.vxd; wmaudio.386 and TurboVCD.vxd have been deleted, thouigh they are required for an application. I never explicitly deleted them.

    1. Which application needs them?
    2. If I cannot reinstall, how do I suppress the messages in startup? Do I create dummy files?

    Help please.

    Hi Hobbit

I don't know if this helps, but here are descriptions of the file types for you:

    .386 Intel 80386 processor driver (Windows 3.x)
.vxd Virtual device driver (MS Windows)

    Have a Great day!!!

Do you have any program called "Turbo"? The WMAudio reference may be for a MediaPlayer file.

You might want to look into your autoexec.bat and config.sys files for references to these files, and them "Remark" (rem) those lines.

No program called turbo, but I may have downloaded a progra at some time to 'turbocharge' my internet connection. I will try to find it in my records. Thanks for the hint.
