    Formatting Subtotals (Excel 2000 SR1)

Is there a way to format the subtotals differently from the default bold when they are applied using the Subtotals tool. I have tried using the conditional formatting tool but cannot trigger it using text within a cell (e.g. format cells which contain the word "total"). Can this actually be done?

    Thank you Kate

Re: Formatting Subtotals (Excel 2000 SR1)

    Select cell A1.
    Format, conditional format
    Formula Is
    =Search("total",A1)
    Set the appropriate formatting.
    OK.

Now you can copy this format to other cells. (Copy, select cells, edit, paste special, formats)
