Win-XP Help Center request wipes your HD (Win XP without SP1)
Edited by WyllyWylly to add URL code. See the Quick Guide. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
I am not sure if anybody else has seen this article at http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/4/27074.html
Sorry it may be old news but if it isn't and you don't have SP1 installed you should read the article and try the test scenario to see how vunerable your PC could be to a malicious attack.
In short if you click on a URL which opens up the Help Center it can delete the entire contents of a specified directory.
Sorry if this is old news but it is the first I have heard of it and I don't recall it been mentioned in any of the XP newsletters.

This is fixed in Sp-1. If you can't or won't install Sp-1 then here's a quote from an MS XP newsgroup - "For those who don't or can't, delete or rename the drvupload.htm (or
something like that...) file. Fixed."
