    Default date in Date-Formfield (WORD2000)

I use a formfield to capture a date as entered by a user on a WORD form. As default (there is a 'default date field' in the field-dialog), I'd like the current date presented. I see no real possibilities to put this in there without VBA so I wanted to stick this in my Auto_Open.

The item is called "Activedocument.FormFields("Date")" but I see no property that would allow me to enter something into the default field... (checked the help too...). Recording also doesn't seem to work here...

Anybody how could advise me here?

    Try something like

    ActiveDocument.FormFields("Date").Result = Format(Now, "dd/mmm/yyyy")

(with date fields formatted according to your requirement).

You can un-tick the "Fill-in enabled" box on the form field if you do not want users to override the value.

    Thanks,

This just sets the field-value and works fine (it doesn't set the default-field i the dialog however). It did help me however and my problem got solved!
