    List box width (Access 2K)

I am having trouble getting rid of the horizontal scroll bar in a list box I have added to a form. I have 5 columns in the list box. The first is hidden so four columns show. The column width is listed as 0";1";1";1";1". The width for the list box itself is 4". However, even with these settings there is a horizontal scroll bar that scroll another couple of inches to the right. How do I eliminate this scroll bar?

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have tried the same thing but in A97 and it seems to work ok.
    I haven't tried it in A2k.
Is it a List Box or a Combo box?

List box. I can make the list box wider than I want and the scroll bars will disappear, but I cannot make them disappear for the list box size that I prefer.

You have to adjust Column Widths so that sum is slightly less than listbox's Width setting. For example, setting Column widths to 0";1";1";1";0.9702" with 4" wide listbox got rid of the annoying horizontal scrollbar. These settings also worked: 0";0.9903";0.9903";0.9903";0.9903". If you try to cut it too close the scrollbar will again appear. Recommend experiment to get desired results.

Try setting the width to the sum of the 4 columns + 0.25 of an inch. This allows for the vertical scroll bar.

I always make my list width .2" greater than the sum of the column widths. I do this for combo boxes also. Seems to work for me.
