FYI WMP9 Download EULA (Win XP Pro)

The EULA rarely read on downloads for the Win Media Player 9 Beta has an interesting new twist.
    It reads:

Re: WMP9 Download EULA (Win XP Pro)

It was an FYI because I don't think it's a run of the mill MS EULA, Dave. And neither do a number of groups, including the EFF, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and a number of civil liberties groups, many toward the political center. I wasn't seeking advice nor making a political statement. I have a belief that there are people in the world using file sharing platforms and getting digital downloads who have WMP9 Beta and will have WMP9 the "Beta after the Beta called RTM". Some people may be surprised when their music is gone. I wasn't looking for legal advice.

    Thanks,

Let us know, if you lose your music <img src=/S/evilgrin.gif border=0 alt=evilgrin width=15 height=15>, and we will know also so.

All kinds of problems at the MS news group, but no talk of this.
    One major item, there is NO uninstall for version 9Beta <img src=/S/devil.gif border=0 alt=devil width=15 height=15>

Re: WMP9 Download EULA (Win XP Pro)

Haven't gotten the chance to tell if it is significantly better in terms of streaming, or its other features. But the bugs seemed really miniscule and it has a nice Music Match-esque organizer--that will automatically organize all your music by similar artists. If I lose my music it will be something like a corruption in WMP (I've fixed that before by naming it's files .old)--not because Microsoft revoked it through the EULA's DRM clause.
I basically brought this up because of the similarity to the Berman Bill and the larger clash where the recording industry wants the right to legally hack your computer whenever it likes. I could mourn the loss of most of the creative independent radio stations because of RIAA greed, but I understand this space is to help people enjoy XP.
